Welcome to Caren Jackson Counseling

Caren Jackson, LCMHC

Whatever life challenges you are facing, I am honored to help you to better cope and endure. Whether by seeking a path through the obstacles of life or by learning to cope with that which must be endured, it is my goal to empower you to find your best way through. By seeking understanding from one's past experiences, we can choose a better path forward, thus cultivating stronger relationships with one's self and others. My specialties include coping with chronic pain, disability and illness; adjusting to new medical and mental health diagnoses; caregiver distress; grief; religious trauma; coping with familial addiction; healing from chronic and childhood trauma; and men's mental health.

About Me

A graduate of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro's Master's of Community Counseling program, I have worked with individuals and families throughout the Triad for over fifteen years.

My approach to counseling is person-centered and client led. This means, we start where you are, focus on your own personal goals and build on your strengths. I also take a systems approach, in which I recognize the individual within the context of family, community and culture. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems, (IFS) and existential approaches. I am trauma-informed and consider myself an ally to the LGTBQI+ community.

Being a counselor has brought unique gifts into my life. I have learned from my clients and cherish each of their stories. I am honored to walk alongside of my clients as they face life's difficulties and triumphs.
